Lockeroom wins, MacLeod falls on 2nd day of Mickey Huskey Twin Lakes Classic

The Mountain Home Lockeroom American Legion baseball team picked up its second win in the Mickey Huskey Twin Lakes Classic Friday at Cooper Park. After giving up five straight runs, the Lockeroom scored eight unanswered to defeat Fort Smith 9-5.

Maddex Chism was credited with the victory after relieving starter Easton Carter and giving up no runs. Mountain Home’s senior squad had some big hits from Jackson Corp and Jordan Corbett.

The Lockeroom improves to 8-6 on the season.

The Mountain Home junior team ended up with its second loss in the tournament. MacLeod fell to North Central Arkansas by a final of 14-9.

In Friday’s other games, Paragould shut out Bartlesville, Okla., 8-0, and Pontotoc, Miss., blanked St. Peters, Mo., 1-0.
