MacLeod loses opener in tournament at Jefferson City, Mo.

The Mountain Home MacLeod American Legion baseball team started the G.B. Summer Bash Junior Tournament on a rough note Friday in Jefferson City, Mo. MacLeod suffered a 12-4 defeat to the Jefferson City Sophomores 12-4. Will Morris was the losing pitcher as he started the first 1 2/3 innings, Will Rauls pitched a 1/3 of an inning, and Eli Jones went 4 1/3 innings. Tate Cudworth led the Mountain Home offense with two hits and a run, and Koen Bickford and Rowan Askew each added a hit.

The loss came a day after MacLeod swept West Plains Thursday at Cooper Park.
Mountain Home won the first game 12-2. Truett Lindsey picked up the victory with three strikeouts. Owen Morris led Mountain Home with two hits, a run and four RBIs; and Rauls and Askew each added two hits.
MacLeod also took the nightcap over West Plains 10-1. Jones was the winning pitcher, and he also provided two hits and an RBI at the plate. Lindsey, Landon Newton, Ford Coleman and Erik Foster each added a hit.

Mountain Home will continue the G.B. Summer Bash Junior Tournament with two games on Saturday. MacLeod faces the Jefferson City Juniors at 9 and Warrensburg, Mo., at 3:45.
