Lockeroom, MacLeod split Saturday tournament games in Missouri

Both of Mountain Home’s American Legion baseball teams split their Saturday tournament games in Missouri.

The Lockeroom concluded action in the Big Nuts Classic in Charleston.
Mountain Home’s senior squad was able to get a walkoff win in the eighth inning of their first game as they got past the Cardinals Legacy Perfectos 8-7. Cash Arnhart went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs. Ethan Light picked up the victory on the mound.
The Lockeroom had a different result in the later session as they suffered a 5-3 defeat to Columbia, Tenn. Jackson Corp provided a double, and Jordan Corbett added a hit.
Mountain Home’s next game will be Saturday when they return to Cooper Park to meet Springdale.

MacLeod ended up with mixed results in the second day of the G.B. Summer Bash Junior Tournament in Jefferson City.
The Mountain Home junior squad was edged out by the Jefferson City Juniors 4-3 in the morning session. Koen Bickford was the losing pitcher as he pitched four innings, struck out two batters and gave up four earned runs. Truett Lindsey pitched two innings. Erik Foster led MacLeod by going 3-for-4; Will Rauls had a hit and an RBI; Tate Cudworth provided two hits and scored a run; and Bickford, Colt Crownover and Rowan Askew each added a base hit.
Mountain Home bounced back in the late afternoon as they squeaked by Warrensburg, Mo., 7-6. Lindsey was credited with the win as he pitched 2 1/3 relief innings, recorded three strikeouts and gave up one hit. Askew was the starter and went the first 3 2/3 innings. MacLeod was led by Crownover with two hits and two RBIs; Will Morris finished with two hits and two runs; Foster provided a hit, scored a run and drove in three more; Askew ended up with a hit and two runs; and Eli Jones and Landon Newton each added a base hit.
Mountain Home will continue action in Jefferson City on Sunday as they meet Elsberry, Mo.
