Flippin Fireworks Festival set for Wednesday at Hickey Park

Several Independence Day celebrations are being held this week, and the city of Flippin is among those taking part. The Flippin Fireworks Festival will be held Wednesday at Hickey Park.

The event begins at 3, and Flippin Mayor Heith Hogan says several vendors will be on-site.

The fireworks will be shot by members of the Flippin Fire Department, led by Chief David Hannah, and Mayor Hogan says they always put on a good show.

There is no cost to attend the festival, but Flippin Police Chief John Spence says parking will be limited in the park.

In addition, the Flippin Police Department will be raffling off a Pelican kayak valued at $330. Tickets can be purchased in the police tent at the festival for $5 each or five for $20. All proceeds will go to the police auxiliary and Shop with a Cop.
