Philip Frame Jr., a lifelong Mountain Home resident, announced Thursday afternoon his intent to run for the Ward 3, Seat 1 position on the Mountain Home City Council. Current seat holder, Paige Dillard Evans had announced earlier in the week that she would not be running for reelection of the position she has held for five and a half years.Frame who grew up in the community says public service was instilled in him from a young age by both of his parents. His father, Philip Frame Sr. served the community as Chief of Police and as a city council member. His mother, Eva Frame also served on the city council for 11 years.

Since returning to Mountain Home after college Frame has been involved in the community volunteering at the Baxter County Library and serving as a board member of the Twin Lakes Future Fund. Currently, he serves as a board member of the Peitz Cancer Support House at Baxter Health, as well as a board member of the Friends of the North Fork and White River which played a role in halting efforts to reopen the NABORs Landfill. Frame also serves as Secretary of Mountain Home’s Planning and Zoning Commission, a position he has held for almost 4 years.

“Mountain Home is without doubt the greatest city in this country in respect to affordability, safety, and natural beauty and I would like to keep it that way, while still making every effort to make our community all that it can be,” Frame said in a press release Thursday. “It would be a privilege to serve our community in the Ward 3 Seat 1 position of the Mountain Home City Council.”
