While most area schools began classes last week, students in the Mountain Home systems will start this week. Mountain Home Public Schools and Mountain Home Christian Academy will have their opening sessions on Monday.
The day will also mark the start of classes at Gainesville and Dora. In addition, Arkansas State University-Mountain Home will begin its fall semester.
Student safety in and around school buses should be a priority for schools, parents and motorists. In Arkansas, it’s illegal to pass a school bus loading or unloading students with its red lights flashing. Drivers in all lanes, even on multi-lane highways, regardless of direction of travel, must stop at least 30 feet before reaching the bus.
