A Bull Shoals man was arrested after an investigation revealed he had initiated a graphic sexual chat with a 16-year-old girl.

According to a release from the Arkansas State Police (ASP), on August 28, the ASP Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) executed a residential search warrant at the home of 63-year-old Kenzie Parnell of Bull Shoals following a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

During the investigation, agents found Parnell initiated a graphic sexual chat with a 16-year-old girl. He was reported to have continued regular sexual chats with the girl for approximately two months. Agents discovered nude images were requested by and sent to Parnell, and Parnell sent unsolicited nude photos to her.

Parnell was arrested Thursday afternoon and transferred to the Marion County Detention Center, where he was booked and charged with one count of possession of child sexual abuse material and one count of computer exploitation of a child. He was released on a $75,000 bond.

If convicted, Parnell could face 10 to 40 years or life in prison.
