A woman was airlifted to a Memphis hospital, and a Paragould man has been arrested following a domestic violence incident. Thirty-two-year-old Tyler O’Neal is facing a felony count of second-degree domestic battery.

According to a Facebook post from Greene County Sheriff Brad Snyder, he and some deputies responded Friday night to a call of a woman screaming for help in the 100 block of County Road 753. While enroute, dispatch advised approximately four gunshots had been fired in the same area. Upon arrival, a female was found lying on the ground with obvious head trauma. The alleged male assailant was also nearby on the ground.

Sheriff Snyder says suspect is alleged to have been attacking the female when a neighbor in the area intervened and stopped the attack. The neighbor reportedly fired a weapon into the air to draw attention to the incident so that someone could contact the authorities.

O’Neal is currently in the Greene County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
