Friday’s football schedule includes Yellville-Summit at Hector

High school football makes up much of the local Friday schedule, and while Mountain Home and Mountain View will be idle this week, Yellville-Summit will be among the area teams in action. The Panthers will return to the road for a matchup with Hector.
Yellville-Summit is currently 1-0 on the season. The Panthers started their campaign two weeks ago with a 48-point win in the first 11-man game at Izard County. Hector has a record of 0-1. The Wildcats’ season began last week with a rough 38-point defeat to Perryville, but Yellville-Summit head coach Chaseton McCarthy says his team should not be fooled by that.

Kickoff at Linton Stadium is scheduled for 7.

Elsewhere, Salem travels to Newport, Izard County makes the trip to Quitman, Melbourne heads to Cave City, Harrison travels to Searcy, West Plains makes the trip to Springfield to meet Hillcrest, Hollister heads to Forsyth, Branson travels to Bolivar, and Ava hosts Mountain Grove. On the eight-man level, Marshall entertains Rector.

There is one game matching up teams in the Arkansas Sports Media Top 10. Top-ranked Bryant makes the trip to Little Rock to face No. 5 Parkview.
