Bull Shoals holding art contest for locals to design new city flag

The City of Bull Shoals is holding an art contest for locals in Marion and Baxter Counties to design a new city flag.

Gary Heimbach says the contest is designed to bring unity to the city.

Flag designs should be 3×5 inches in size and should be submitted as either a physical drawing or a JPG, JPEG, PDF or Vector image. Designs should be kept simple, use meaningful symbolism, use two to three colors, be distinctive and not use any lettering or seals.

All submissions must be original works created by the participant. Designs found to be plagiarized or use AI of any form will be disqualified.

Heimbach and Sami Castagna, owner of Sami’s Art and More, say the winning design will leave a lasting impact on the city.

The deadline to submit is September 30. All submitted entries will be reviewed and a winner will be selected by a council of city council members, business owners and locals. Entries can be submitted by emailing samis.artgallery@gmail.com, mailing to PO Box 407, Bull Shoals, AR, 72619 with “Bull Shoals Flag Contest” written on the envelope or dropped off in person at Sami’s Art and More 704 Central Blvd., Bull Shoals.
