The Baxter County Health Unit of the Arkansas Department of Health, or ADH, will offer free flu vaccinations on September 27th. The drive-thru clinic will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Mountain Home from 9 to 3.
Participants should enter from Bucher Drive around the back of the church and exit on West Road. Patients are asked to bring their insurance cards with them to the clinic. If anyone does not have insurance or if their insurance does not cover flu vaccines, they will still be available at no charge.
Annual flu vaccination is recommended for most adults and children six months and older. The flu virus changes from year to year, and this year’s vaccine protects against the flu viruses that are expected to cause the most illness this flu season.
Baxter County Health Unit Administrator Stacey Ferretti, BSN, RN, says, “We want Baxter County residents to stay healthy this flu season, and getting a yearly flu vaccination is the best line of defense. We encourage everyone to come to the community event or the local health unit to get their flu shot.”
For anyone unable to attend the drive-thru clinic, flu vaccines will be available in the health unit beginning September 30th.
