A fugitive from Georgia wanted on three counts of aggravated assault with intent to commit murder was captured in Harrison. Nineteen-year-old Ericson De La Paz of Marietta is in the Boone County Jail and Detention Center awaiting extradition to Cobb County.

According to a Facebook post from the City of Harrison, the police department received notification Friday of a license plate hit on the FLOCK camera system. The registered owner of the vehicle was wanted by the Cobb County, Ga., Fugitive Task Force, and officers were notified the driver was known to be armed and dangerous.

An officer located the vehicle traveling on the U.S. Highway 62-65 bypass. Officers performed a high-risk traffic stop on the suspect vehicle and detained and identified the driver as De La Paz.

The Harrison Police Department was assisted by the Arkansas State Police, Boone County Sheriff’s Office and 14th Judicial District Drug Task Force.
