A former long-time employee of the Mountain Home Public School system will be part of the Class of 2024 inducted into the Mountain Home Education Foundation Hall on Honor this week. Sandy Almond will receive the Earnest Perry Award during the foundation’s Night of Honors.
Almond worked in the district a total of 38 years in a position that has had three different titles. She has been a Title I teacher’s aide, paraprofessional or interventionist, and she says she was actually hired twice by Mountain Home.

Almond retired from her position in 2019. During her time at Mountain Home, she worked with kindergarten, first, second and third grades. Almond says being able to nurture the growth of the children she worked with was a gratifying experience.

Almond also says she was able to have good relationships with the faculty and staff she worked with, including someone personally connected to her.

The Mountain Home Education Foundation’s Night of Honors is scheduled for Thursday evening at the Vada Sheid Community Development Center on the campus of Arkansas State University-Mountain Home.
