The dry conditions and lack of rain have resulted in a burn ban for one local city. The ban was put in effect for Salesville Monday morning.
Three area counties are also under a burn ban. Searcy County was the latest to get the ban. Boone and Newton counties have been under a burn ban since the beginning of the month.
The wildfire danger has increased for all of north central Arkansas. According to the Arkansas Forestry Division, Baxter, Marion, Fulton, Izard, Searcy and Stone counties have been upgraded to a moderate danger. Boone and Newton counties are considered under a high wildfire danger.
