On Tuesday, the City of Briarcliff has issued a burn ban. Mayor Keith Lewis says the ban was issued due to the dry condition, lack of rain and the significant risk due to dead and downed trees and debris left from the May tornadoes.

Four area counties are also under a burn ban. Stone County was recently added to the list along with Boone, Newton and Searcy counties.

The wildfire danger has increased for all of north central Arkansas. According to the Arkansas Forestry Division, Baxter, Marion, and Izard counties have been upgraded to high danger for wildfires joining Boone, Newton and Searcy counties. Fulton is still listed as moderate danger
