Hit-and-run accident results in death of Mountain Home man

A hit-and-run accident Friday night in Mountain Home resulted in the death of a city resident. The deceased pedestrian is an unidentified 27-year-old male. A 62-year-old Mountain Home woman, whose name has also not been released, was identified as the suspect.

According to the Mountain Home Police Department, officers responded around 9 to the hit-and-run involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian in the 1100 block of U.S. Highway 62B East, near City Nails. The suspected vehicle and its driver were found nearly three hours later in an undisclosed location.

The Mountain Home Police Department is conducting its investigation in collaboration with the Arkansas State Police, and appropriate charges will be filed upon its completion.
