Early voting for Arkansas’ general election begins Monday, giving residents a chance to cast their ballots ahead of Election Day, which is set for Nov. 5.
Polls will open at 8 Monday morning, and voters can take advantage of early voting through Nov. 4, helping them avoid potential lines on Election Day.
In Baxter County, early voting will take place at First United Methodist Church, 605 W. 6th St., Mountain Home. It will be the only early voting location in the county.
In Marion County, early voting will be held at multiple locations:
– Marion County Fairgrounds: Oct. 21 through Nov. 4, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
– Bull Shoals City Hall: Oct. 29 through Nov. 4, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
– Lazy Acres Fire House: Nov. 4 only, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Voters are reminded to bring a valid photo ID to the polls. Acceptable forms of ID include:
– Arkansas driver’s license;
– Arkansas photo ID card;
– Concealed handgun carry license;
– U.S. passport;
– Employee badge or ID from an accredited Arkansas postsecondary institution;
– U.S. military ID;
– Public assistance ID card with a photo; or
– Voter verification card.
First-time voters in Arkansas or those who registered by mail without submitting ID will also need to show ID. Acceptable forms include a driver’s license, state-issued non-driver’s ID, or a current utility bill, bank statement, or other government document showing name and address.
Voters without ID can cast a provisional ballot. To have the provisional ballot counted, voters must present an acceptable ID to the county board of election commissioners or county clerk by noon the Monday after the election.
