Monday basketball results include Norfork sweeping Mammoth Spring in Bobby D. Hulse Classic

The Norfork High School basketball teams opened the season on a successful note as they swept Mammoth Spring on the first night of the Bobby D. Hulse Memorial Classic. The Lady Panthers began by topping the Lady Bears 51-47. Norfork’s boys followed with a 59-56 win over Mammoth Spring.

Rural Special had mixed results as they met White County Central on the opening day of the Pangburn Tip-Off Classic. The Lady Rebels invoked the mercy rule as they routed the Lady Bears 61-15. Rural Special did not fare as well on the boys’ side as they lost to White County Central 55-51.

The Lead Hill High School teams split their home openers with Ozark Mountain. The Tigers took the boys’ game over the Bears 58-41. The girls’ contest had a different result with Lead Hill falling to Ozark Mountain 60-22.

On the junior high level, Cotter had a rough start to the season as they were swept in four games at Jasper. The varsity girls’ game ended with the Junior Lady Warriors getting edged out by the Junior Lady Pirates 28-26. The night wasn’t any better for Cotter’s junior boys as they fell to Jasper 40-26. The evening began with the Cotter seventh graders losing to Jasper 30-12. Cotter also lost the seventh grade boys’ contest 22-6.
