Lucky Star Handmade, a new artist cooperative, is set to open Thursday on the square in Yellville. The newly remodeled located at 303 E. Old Main Street will feature a wide variety of art, including paintings, jewelry, textiles, and woodwork, along with baked goods, local produce, and flowers. The cooperative will also offer workshops and a performance space for concerts, lectures, and readings.

Donna Musarra, co-founder of the nonprofit says, “We are thrilled to announce the opening of Lucky Star Handmade. It is not just a retail shop. It’s a 501(c)(3) dedicated to enriching our community and driving economic development through the power of art and creativity.”

Lucky Star Handmade is an extension of the Lucky Star Artist in Residence Program, which Musarra and David Mervis have operated in Rush for several years. The new cooperative aims to engage the wider community through various arts, crafts, and performance-based activities. Planned workshops include natural dyeing, woodworking, and jewelry making, with potential future offerings such as yoga and tai chi classes.

The grand opening will take place Tuesday night from 6 until 8 with live music by Beci and Kent Coffey. Additional upcoming events include a November 22 concert by Kelly and Donna Mulhollan of Still on the Hill, celebrating Ozark musical culture, and a free holiday concert on December 6 featuring Beci and Kent Coffey with Pam Setser.

Lucky Star Handmade’s retail shop will be open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 until 4 starting Thursday. For more information, call 870-449-6109.
