Friday football results include Yellville-Summit losing road finale at Melbourne

The Yellville-Summit High School football team’s final road trip of the season ended on a rough note. The Panthers suffered a 54-14 defeat at Melbourne. Yellville-Summit drops to 2-6 on the year and 0-5 in the 3A-2, and they’ll begin a two-game home stand against Atkins. The Bearkatz are now 6-2 and 3-2, and they’ll host Episcopal Collegiate for Senior Night.

Salem picked up another win as they were in front of the home crowd for the final time in the regular season. The Greyhounds blanked Mountain View 45-0. Salem improves to 5-3 overall and 4-1 in the 3A-2, and they’ll travel to Mayflower next week. The Yellowjackets fall to 4-4 and 2-3, and they’ll entertain Quitman next Friday.

Izard County ended up on the losing end of its final road game of 2024. The Cougars went to Marked Tree lost by a score of 64-22. Izard County drops to 0-8 on the season and 0-5 in the 2A-2, and they’ll host Earle next week.

Harrison came up just short as they were back on the home turf of F.S. Garrison Stadium. The Goblins were edged out by Vilonia 24-21. Harrison is now 1-7 on the year and 1-4 in the 5A-West, and they’ll have their last road trip of the year next week at Greenbrier.

Marshall watched its season come to an end in the Eight-Man Club Division State Playoffs. The Bobcats lost their semifinal game at home 60-22 at the hands of Subiaco Academy. Marshall’s final record is 3-6.
