A group of Army Reserve soldiers from Jonesboro is being mobilized to support operations in the Middle East.

The 495th Inland Cargo Transportation Company, known as the Tough ‘Ombres, will provide essential logistics and cargo transfer facilities at key transportation interchanges, including air, rail, truck, and water.

Operating similarly to civilian distribution centers, the 495th ensures that soldiers on the battlefield are equipped with the necessary supplies. The company is led by Capt. Akeem Gaskin and 1st Sgt. Kieth Knowltoon.

Training and preparation for this mobilization are overseen by Lt. Col. Trebor Bosley, Commander, and Sgt. Major Bryant Howard from the 90th Sustainment Brigade, Special Troops Battalion.

The 90th Sustainment Brigade has a rich history dating back to August 1917, when it was established as an Infantry Division at Camp Travis, Texas. The unit’s blood-red T-O insignia has its roots in the 90th Infantry Division, which landed on D-Day, symbolizing Texas and Oklahoma. Today, the T-O represents the Tough ‘Ombres, with members from across the United States.

Due to operational security protocols, officials did not disclose the number of soldiers or specific deployment dates.
