Norfork City Council races see close finishes

Several close races took place in Norfork Tuesday night, with seats for City Council and Recorder decided by narrow margins.

In the race for Norfork Recorder/Treasurer, unofficial results show incumbent Hannah Martin retained her position, receiving 113 votes to challenger Candace Mae Lewis receiving 97.

In Ward 1, Position 1, incumbent Mark Conley will also keep his seat, winning 118 votes against William Goodman receiving 98.

For Ward 1, Position 2, challenger Chrissy Cook defeated incumbent Harry Roderick with 122 votes to 91.

For Ward 2, Position 1, challenger Hannah Gilmer received 111 votes, beating incumbent Philip Stultz, who received 101 votes.

Races were too close to call in Ward 3 with challengers leading by only a few votes.

In Ward 3, Position 1, challenger Jason Fraser leads incumbent Angie Parnell with 108 votes to 107.

In Ward 3, Position 2, challenger Lacey Baker leads incumbent Kay Gragg with 109 votes to 107.

All results are unofficial. Baxter County has 28 provisional ballots, 11 overseas/military ballots, and 9 absentee ballots without proper ID remaining to review. Voters have until Monday to present identification for these votes to be counted. Any runoff elections will take place in four weeks, if needed.
