The Mountain Home Christian Academy boys’ basketball team began its season on a rough note. The Eagles fell at home to Eureka Springs 73-32.
Viola’s girls had a successful road trip to Western Grove. The Lady Longhorns got past Ozark Mountain by a final of 59-56.
The Timbo High School teams were swept at home by Greers Ferry West Side. The Tigers lost the boys’ game to the Eagles 59-47. The Timbo girls also fell to West Side 71-30.
Rural Special’s high school teams were able to beat Mount Vernon-Enola. Both games had the same score as the Rebel teams topped the Warhawks 64-54.
Lead Hill split four games at home with Ozark Catholic.
The varsity boys’ game ended with the Tigers losing to the Griffins 65-55. Brett Arnold and Noah Royce led Lead Hill with 16 points each, and D.J. Evans scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
Lead Hill did not fare any better in the senior girls’ contest. The Lady Tigers fell to Ozark Catholic 48-28.
Lead Hill was able to win the junior varsity boys’ game. The J.V. Tigers defeated Ozark Catholic 23-13.
The evening began with Lead Hill’s junior high boys squeaking by Ozark Catholic 25-23. The Junior Tigers were led by Tucker Middleton with 14 points.
