Two fishermen were rescued Tuesday night after their boat ran aground near Ozark Isle on Bull Shoals Lake, according to Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander.

Sheriff Alexander states the Sheriff’s Office received a call for assistance Tuesday night at approximately 9:15 from one of the fishermen, reporting that their boat had become stranded. Deputies quickly responded in the sheriff’s office boat, locating the fishermen identified as Dennis Cate and Rick Gage, both of Jonesboro, and safely transporting them back to the Bull Shoals Boat Dock. Neither man was injured.

The boat sustained moderate damage and was left at the scene until it could be retrieved and towed to the marina. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers were informed of the incident but did not respond.
