The Baxter County Historical Museum has officially opened, coinciding with the Baxter County Historical and Genealogical Society’s 50th year of service and its incorporation as a nonprofit organization.

The museum, located at 300 Bomber Blvd., will operate from 10 until 4 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The Society plans to update exhibits regularly and welcomes donations of artifacts related to Baxter County’s history. Individuals with items to contribute are encouraged to visit during operating hours.

The Society’s next meeting is scheduled for Nov. 26 at 6 in the Knox Room of the Donald W. Reynolds Library Serving Baxter County. The program, titled My Favorite Things, invites attendees to bring and share a meaningful item from their personal or family history. A proposed slate of officers for the coming year will also be presented.
