The Mountain Home High School wrestling teams began their season Thursday by taking part in multi-school event at Searcy.
The Lady Bombers began the evening with a 66-18 loss to the three-time defending state champion host Lady Lions. Ellie Miller, Addison Pulsipher and Bailey Schaffner came away with wins for Mountain Home.
The Lady Bombers bounced back in their second dual as they defeated Conway 66-18. Mountain Home’s individual wins came from Schaffner, Pulsipher, Miller, Florence Zelk, Jurzie Guiltner, Brooklyn Stuteville, Olivia McCoy, Shanna Lynch Woodard, Elianna Pepin, Abby Swartz and Abry Campos.
Mountain Home’s boys went 1-2 on the night. The Bombers fell to Searcy 40-37 and to Conway 48-30, but they bounced back and topped Sheridan 40-30. Mario Alvarez and Seth King each went 3-0 on the night and accumulated 17 points, and Mason Shimmel had 13 points after going 3-0. Zane Darracq was 2-1 with two pins and 12 points.
Mountain Home also had a good showing from its junior varsity girls. The J.V. Lady Bombers got wins from Chloe Knight, Pepin, Chrissa Bennett and AmieeLynn Fritzal.
Mountain Home’s varsity girls and junior varsity boys will be in Springdale on Saturday for a tournament hosted by Har-Ber, and the varsity boys will travel to Maumelle on Dec. 3.
