CONWAY, Ark. – Conway police successfully resolved a tense situation Tuesday involving an individual armed with both a sword and a firearm.
Authorities say officers were called to a residence on Rich Smith Lane after reports of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers learned that a person had barricaded themselves inside a bedroom, armed with the weapons.
SWAT officers and crisis negotiators were quickly deployed to the scene, and after negotiations, the situation was brought to a peaceful resolution without any injuries.
The identity of the individual involved has not been released, and investigators have indicated that charges are pending.
