A Mountain Home man became $100,000 richer this week. The male, identified by the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery as Jeff L., claimed his prize Tuesday after ordering his Powerball ticket through the Jackpocket app, for last Saturday’s drawing.

The winning numbers were 1, 31, 43, 55 and 57, the Powerball number was 22, and the Power Play multiplier was 2. Jeff received an email from Jackpocket the morning after the drawing informing him that he had won a Powerball prize. The Mountain Home resident checked his numbers, initially believing the email was a scam, and his ticket matched four out of five winning numbers and the Powerball number to win a $50,000 prize. His winnings doubled with the Power Play option.

Jeff passed the ticket to his wife, who confirmed that he had won the $100,000 prize. She says, “It didn’t really sink in until last night. And we still didn’t want to get our hopes up until we got to Little Rock!”

Jeff told lottery officials, “It was just one of those shots in the sky.”

The local resident is still determining his plans for his winnings, but he does intend to continue playing lottery games. He has his eyes set on the next big Powerball jackpot, currently at an estimated $45 million for the next drawing on Saturday.
