A woman broke into a home, was arrested while walking her dog while she didn’t have any pants or shoes on and then while en route to the jail, she even managed to disconnect the deputy’s radio in his patrol car. A total of eleven charges have been filed against 38-year-old April Dawn Gessner of Gassville for the incident last Thursday afternoon.

According to the probable cause affidavit from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy responded to County Road 9 in the Gassville area after a female had entered a man’s house while he was taking a shower. He backed her out at gun point and called law enforcement with her description.

A deputy found Gessner, who matched the description, walking her dog, but she was not wearing any pants or shoes. After taking Gessner into custody, another victim came up and said his daughter-in-law said someone had just tried to break into her home. The deputy went to the address and a neighbor reported a lady had tried to enter her house as well.

The deputy returned to the original caller’s house where he identified Gessner as the person who entered his house. While en route, Gessner spotted her stuff and started screaming “Those are my pants and shoes, can we stop and get them?” She told the deputy she took them off because she was hot. nvestigators found a glass pipe in the pants with residue believed to be marijuana.

While en route to the jail, the deputy noted Gessner was showing signs of being under the influence of narcotics. At one point, she had her backside against the cage of his car, her head was facing the back and she was jumping up and down. While she was moving, his radio quit working. After dropping her off, it was determined the wire for the antenna had been unplugged while she was being transported.

Gessner is facing one count of residential burglary and two counts of attempted residential burglary, all felonies. Misdemeanor charges include one count of criminal mischief, three counts of criminal trespassing, two counts of disorderly conduct, and one count each of possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication. Bond is set at $25,000.
