This holiday season tunred out to be one of the best for the Salvation Army in Mountain Home. The local organization exceeded its goal for the Red Kettles, recorded higher-than-normal volunteer hours and had a lot of community support for the Angel Tree program.
Majors John and Michelle Robbins will be guests on an upcoming episode of the Talk of the Town on KTLO-FM. John Robbins says as of this past weekend, the Salavtion Army had raised $69,000 from the Red Kettles, $9,000 past their goal.

When it comes to having volunteers during the holidays, the local Salvation Army’s numbers are usually fairly low, but John Robbins says that number went in the positive direction as well.

This year’s Angel Tree program in the Twin Lakes Area ended up with 429 kids. That number is higher than normal, but Michelle Robbins says it was heartwarming to see the community step up to help the angels.
