High school basketball makes up the local Thursday schedule as a few area teams begin tournament play.
The 50th-annual North Arkansas College Invitational Tournament will get underway at the Pioneer Pavilion in Harrison. On the boys’ side, Marshall and Jasper tip off at 10, Norfork meets Marshall’s junior varsity team at 2, Valley Springs faces Alpena at 4:40, and Yellville-Summit takes on West Fork at 7:20. On the girls’ bracket, Marshall plays Jasper at 11:20, Yellville-Summit will be paired with Alpena at 12:40, and Valley Springs meets West Fork at 6.
Calico Rock will begin hosting the Rumble in the Rock Basketball Tournament at the Harold Ray Jeffrey Gymnasium. In the girls’ games, the host Lady Pirates face Hillcrest at 4, and Cedar Ridge takes on Koshkonong at 6:30. In boys’ action, Koshkonong plays Kingston at 5:15, and Midland will be matched up with Hillcrest at 7:45.
