Norfork among area basketball teams continuing tournament play Friday

High school basketball makes up much of the local Friday schedule as a few tournaments and classics will continue.

The second day of the North Arkansas College Invitational Tournament at the Pioneer Pavilion in Harrison.
On the consolation side of the boys’ bracket, Norfork and Alpena tip off at 10, and Jasper meets West Fork at 11:20. In the semifinals, Yellville-Summit faces Marshall at 3:20, and Marshall’s junior varsity team takes on Valley Springs at 4:40.
In the girls’ games, the first semifinal between Yellville-Summit and Marshall is scheduled for 12:40, Jasper plays Alpena on the consolation bracket at 2, and the other semifinal will pair Norfork with Valley Springs at 6.

The Rumble in the Rock Basketball Tournament will hold its semifinal round at the Harold Ray Jeffrey Gymnasium in Calico Rock. In the girls’ games, the host Lady Pirates face Mammoth Spring at 4, and Cedar Ridge meets Kingston at 6:30. On the boys’ bracket, Mammoth Spring takes on Kingston at 5:15, and Calico Rock plays Hillcrest at 7:45.

Three area teams will compete in the final games of the Heber Springs Holiday Classic. Salem’s girls will be matched up with the host Lady Panthers at 4:30, and Mountain View meets Riverview for a doubleheader starting with the girls at 6.

Elsewhere, Salem will send three boys’ teams to Timbo, Izard County hosts Harding Academy for two girls’ games, Melbourne entertains Rural Special, and Harrison travels to Centerton to face Bentonville West.
