Arkansas families have a new way to explore the outdoors with the launch of the Natural State Goosechase. The interactive app combines exploration, creativity, and fun, offering weekly challenges to connect people with nature.
The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) is rolling out the statewide program after testing it locally for the past year.
Eric Maynard, assistant chief of the AGFC Education Division, says “Each nature center was doing scavenger hunts, and now we’re ready to go statewide.”
Participants can now use the Goosechase app to complete missions such as visiting wildlife management areas, nature centers, and more. Users earn points by posting photos or videos of their adventures.
Maynard says it’s all about introducing people to AGFC programs. The missions are designed to appeal to everyone, from hunters and anglers to hikers, birders, and paddlers.
New challenges will be added each Monday through March, and participants who reach a certain point threshold will be eligible for prizes. The app and participation are free.
