Joseph “Joe” W. Pool, 73, of Bakersfield, Missouri passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains, Missouri. He was born September 12, 1951, in Culp, Arkansas to Russell and Nettie Pool. Joe was an avid outdoorsman who found great joy in hunting and fishing. Above all, his greatest passion was spending time with his family and lending a helping hand to anyone in need. Gifted with creativity and knowledge, he was honest, down-to-earth, and there was little he couldn’t do.
Joe cherished the time he spent making memories with his children and grandchildren, whether it was guiding them to their first fish or celebrating their first deer. He had a special way of inspiring a love for the outdoors in the younger generation. Joe will be fondly remembered for his kind heart, his boundless love for his family, and, of course, his ever-present cup of coffee. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Donna; a grandson, Jasper and four brothers, Franklin, Stephan, James, and Carl.
Joe is survived by his wife of 22 years, Mary Pool; a son, Kevin Pool, of Calico Rock, Arkansas; a son, Dustin (Brooke) Pool, of Glencoe, Arkansas; a stepdaughter, Wendy (Mike) McCullar, of Sherwood, Arkansas; and a stepson, Wayne Sallee, of Cotter, Arkansas; nine grandchildren, Cody, Ashley, Braxton, Chase, Maeci, Ava, Connor, Riley, Adam; a great-grandson Jace; two brothers, Mike (Patsy) Pool of Norfork, Arkansas and Chester (Patricia) Pool of Dolph, Arkansas; four sisters, Nona Bollinger of Battlefield, Missouri, Alta Wise of Calico Rock, Arkansas, Reba (Jack) Anderson of Pineville, Arkansas and Janie (Dwayne) Tabor of Tecumseh, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Debbie Pool, and a host of nieces and nephews.
