Brookland resident and former Jonesboro police officer, Joseph Tucker Harris, was arrested on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, by Special Agents with the Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division. Harris, 29, faces felony charges of Aggravated Assault, Filing a False Report, and misdemeanor Third-Degree Battery.

Harris voluntarily surrendered at the Craighead County Detention Center around 9 a.m. on Tuesday. He was later released after posting a $15,000 bond later that same afternoon.

The arrest follows a request for investigation made by 2nd Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Sonia Hagood on August 15, 2024. The investigation concerns an incident from August 8, 2024, in which Harris allegedly used excessive force against a detainee. The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division was tasked with looking into the matter.

The case remains under investigation, and additional details are expected as the legal process unfolds.
