A shooting in Grant County on Wednesday has resulted in the death of a woman and left a child injured.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies, along with Arkansas State Police troopers, responded to a call on Grant 56 regarding the shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered the two victims.
Authorities said that despite attempts to save her, the woman succumbed to her injuries. The child was transported to a hospital and is in stable condition.
The suspect, Jason Rucker, was arrested and is currently being held at the Sheridan Detention Center.
The identity of the woman who was killed has not yet been released by investigators.
