The Mountain Home Police Department (MHPD) is warning residents about mail being received from the National Police Association regarding a petition on “The Quality of Life Policing.”
The department states it is not affiliated with the petition or any requests for donations. MHPD reminds the public that legitimate law enforcement agencies do not solicit monetary donations through calls or mail.
In recent months, other communities have reported similar mail scams involving the same letter. MHPD attempted to verify the legitimacy of the correspondence but was unable to reach anyone from the association.
