
The Cotter High School basketball teams had mixed results as they hosted Marshall on Friday. The Lady Warriors topped the Lady Bobcats 49-35. Cotter had a different result in the boys’ game as they lost to Marshall 61-52.
Norfork’s boys had a rough night on the road. The Panthers suffered a 70-57 defeat at Calico Rock.
Flippin ended up splitting its games at home with Valley Springs.
The Bobcats took the boys’ game over the Tigers 74-62. Rilyn Robbins was Flippin’s top scorer with 22 points, Tucker Thompson had 15, and Christian Wire and Aidan Hodges each added 14. The Bobcats improve to 23-6 on the season and 7-2 in the 3A-2.
Flippin did not fare as well in the girls’ contest as they fell to Valley Springs 71-51. Macy Willis paced the Lady Tigers with 21 points, Olivia Keeter scored 17, and Tayla Trammell chipped in 14. Valley Springs is now 23-6 on the year and 5-3 in the conference.
Yellville-Summit ended up getting swept in its high school games at Melbourne. The Panthers lost the boys’ game to the Bearkatz 70-49. Yellville-Summit also fell to Melbourne in the girls’ contest 64-39.
The Viola High School teams were swept at home by Greers Ferry West Side. The Lady Longhorns were toppled by the Lady Eagles 69-45. Viola’s boys also lost to West Side 58-30.
The Gainesville girls captured the consolation championship of the Cabool Lady Classic Tournament. The Lady Bulldogs picked up a 44-33 win over Couch.
Gainesville’s boys ended up with a loss in front of the home crowd. The Bulldogs fell to Mountain Grove 74-65.
The Lutie boys came away with a dominating win on the home floor. The Indians beat up on Bradleyville 61-35.
Izard County was able to pick up a four-game sweep as they hosted Cedar Ridge.
The senior boys’ game ended with the Cougars moving into a tie for the 2A-2 lead as they beat the Timberwolves 76-58. Izard County was led by Gabe Spray with 32 points, Cash Arnhart provided 22, and Kade Yancey recorded 12. The Cougars are now 17-9 overall and 9-1 league play.
Izard County also won the senior girls’ contest over Cedar Ridge 62-46. Breyona Fortney was the Lady Cougars’ leading scorer with 22 points, Tinley Bailey finished with 17, and Olivia Spray ended up with 10. Izard County improves to 17-4 on the year and 9-1 in the 2A-2.
In the junior boys’ game, Izard County defeated Cedar Ridge 50-38. Benaiah Spray led the Junior Cougars with 25 points, and Brody Cottrell added 15. Izard County is 10-6 on the season and 6-4 in conference action.
The evening began with the mercy rule being invoked as Izard County’s junior girls pounded Cedar Ridge 36-4. The Junior Lady Cougars were led by Kallie Skidmore with 17 points. Izard County is 14-2 and 9-1.
Dora’s boys had a rough evening at home. The Falcons lost to Seymour 60-30.
The Mammoth Spring girls came away with another home victory. The Lady Bears topped Tuckerman 53-37.
Lead Hill came away with two wins as they played a few games against Founders Classical Academy at Rogers.
It was all Tigers in the senior boys’ game as they destroyed the Spartans 93-48. Noah Royce was Lead Hill’s leading scorer with 41 points, Kaden Baker chipped in 19, Dawson Lively dished out 10 assists, and Brett Arnold had 10 assists.
Lead Hill did not fare as well in the senior girls’ contest. The Lady Tigers were edged out by Founders Classical 45-42.
Lead Hill took the junior boys’ game 41-27. Tucker Middleton led the Junior Tigers with 14 points, and Gage Campbell provided 10.
Bergman put the mercy rule in effect in both of its high school games against Cave City. The Lady Panthers routed the Cavewomen 74-17. Bergman also won the boys’ game 69-38.
Omaha split its high school games with Kingston. The Lady Eagles squeaked by the Lady Yellowjackets 45-44. Omaha ended up losing the boys’ game to Kingston 70-50.
Jasper won both of its boys’ games over the School for Advanced Studies at Rogers. The Pirates breezed past the Hellbenders 67-21 in the senior high game. The junior high contest was just as lopsided as Jasper beat up on the School for Advanced Studies 51-9.
