Mountain Home Public Schools (MHPS) students delivered an impressive performance at this year’s Baxter County Spelling Bee, held Thursday. Competitors from third through eighth grade showcased their spelling skills against top students from area schools.
Leading the way for MHPS, Hackler Intermediate School's fourth grader Michael Jones clinched first place. He will advance to the Arkansas State Spelling Bee in Little Rock on March 8, representing Baxter County.

Eighth grader Ricia Recktenwald of Mountain Home Junior High secured a strong second-place finish, while seventh-grader Presley Mayfield earned third place for the Bombers.
