In recent competition, Mountain Home Jr High’s Quiz Bowl team won the 6A Regional Quiz Bowl Tournament after they scored the most points to break a three way tie.
The team opened the tournament with a loss to Searcy but rebounded to win its next four games, outscoring opponents 1,445 to 490. The final match resulted in a three-way tie, with Mountain Home claiming victory by scoring the highest total points.
Team members included Wave Simmons, Victor Jackson, Aidan Kerr, Ricia Recktenwald, Eliza Obert, and Jentry Souder.
The team advances to the state tournament in Greenwood on Feb. 15.
