The ASU-Mountain Home baseball team had mixed results Thursday as they went to Parsons, Kan., and took on Labette for a doubleheader.

The first game ended with the TrailBlazers’ first victory of the season as they invoked the mercy rule in the sixth inning and routed the Cardinals 14-4. Masen Lemons picked up the win as he pitched four innings and gave up four runs. ASU-Mountain Home ended up with 15 base hits in the game and was led by Spencer Mounce’s five hits and four RBIs.

The TrailBlazers’ comeback attempt in the evening session came up short as they were edged out by Labette 5-4. The Cardinals scored the first five runs of the game, but ASU-Mountain Home fought back in the final frame. Chase Plowman had a triple in the seventh inning, and Mounce followed with a three-run home run.

The TrailBlazers are now 1-5 on the season, and they’ll travel to Rogers on Tuesday for a neutral site game with Connors State.
