Nominations are now open for the 2025 Arkansas Food Hall of Fame, which honors food establishments that reflect the states unique culinary heritage. The Division of Arkansas Heritage is accepting nominations through Feb. 28.
The program, now in its ninth year, recognizes culturally significant restaurants, proprietors, and food-themed events from across Arkansas.
Categories include Arkansas Food Hall of Fame, to recognize long standing restaurants which help create Arkansas food culture; Proprietor of the Year, honoring a chef, cook or restaurant owner with significant impact on local food tastes and preferences; Food themed event, honoring a community food themed event or festival which preserved a community’s unique food history; Gone but Not Forgotten, to remember past establishments which set the stage for current food tastes and preferences and People’s Choice.
Marty Ryall, the director of the Division of Arkansas Heritage, says “We are proud to open the nominations to recognize another outstanding year of culinary contributions to our state. Food is at the heart of what brings up together and we invite the public to celebrate these cherished establishments by nominating them for the Arkansas Food Hall of Fame.”
While many Arkansas Counties have restaurants contending for the four titles, Baxter and Fulton Counties do not currently have any nominations. Any restaurant fitting into any of the four categories can be nominated.
Award finalists will be announced in the summer and honorees will be inducted to a special event in September.
