Gainesville man killed when pickup truck hits several trees, overturns

A Gainesville man was killed in a one-vehicle accident Saturday night in Ozark County. The unidentified 36-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ozark County coroner.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the man was traveling on U.S. Highway 160. He was nearly a half mile west of Gainesville when his pickup truck traveled off roadway, struck several trees and overturned.

The male was reportedly not wearing a seat belt. His death is the fifth fatality reported by Troop G this year, compared to zero at the same time in 2024.

The truck was totaled in the 10:58 p.m. accident.
