David Wayne Gilpin, 74 of Whiteville, AR, passed away on April 16, 2025 in Springfield, MO.

Dave was born on May 14th, 1950 in Mountain Home, Arkansas to Roy Robert Gilpin and Rosie Ella Lewis.

Dave was a loving husband. He was married for 50 years to his wife Margaret.

Father to his daughter Annie, and “Best Buddy” to his grandson Greyson. They spent a lot of time together having fun.

He was the owner/auctioneer of Dave’s Auction Service in Gassville for many years. Until COVID was the cause, and he couldn’t auctioneer anymore.

He loved the auction business and made many friends throughout his career. He always tried to liven things up on his Friday night auctions. If you didn’t go home with something, you went away with a smile on your face. He did a lot of benefit auctions also.

When he lived in Gassville, he was president of the planning and zoning board for a lot of years.

David is survived by his wife, daughter and grandson. His nephew, Thom Embach (Jennifer) and son Erik; His brother Bill McCalamont (Brenda) and niece Kelly, His sister Anna McNew, his Nephew Mark McNew(Jeanette), Niece Tammy McCalamont, Sister in law Mary Golla (Doug) and his dear friend Carolyn Gill.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son Andrew Wayne Gilpin, his brother Henry McCalamont and wife Sharon as well as his brother in law – Tom Embach.

Dave was a kind and loving person and will be missed so very much by his family. He is out of his pain. We will see him again – as the bible says.

There will be a graveside service at Gassville Cemetery on Thursday, April 24 at 2:00 pm. Pastor Norris of Bethel Baptist Church will be officiating.
