BC Library – Homesteading Skills: Starting With Sourdough

September 27 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Do you want to learn how to make Sourdough bread?

Starting sourdough experienced a pop of popularity a couple of years ago, but it is still a fantastic way to make bread. Learn from Baxter County Extension Agent LeeAnn Blevins and Stone County Extension Agent Anna Harlan as they teach us to make, care for, and use sourdough starter.

We will be learning 2 types, potato flake starter and traditional starter. Please bring a couple of jars to take starter home. (If you forget we have ziplock bags so you can carefully transport them home and transfer them to jars.)

Mark your calendar to also register for Sourdough – Dealing with Discard which will be October 18th and November 8th, Sourdough Discard crackers.
